Abstract

PURPOSE

To report 2 interventional cases of dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma with orbital involvement after radiotherapy performed in childhood and to review the literature on chondrosarcoma in the orbit following radiation treatment.

METHODS

Retrospective analysis of medical records of 2 patients with chondrosarcoma of the orbits with review of the literature.

RESULTS

The first patient developed chondrosarcoma of the orbital and maxillary sinus 36 years after external beam radiation therapy to the OS to treat retinoblastoma. The second patient developed a large orbital chondrosarcoma 35 years after external beam radiation therapy in the treatment of craniofacial fibrous dysplasia.

CONCLUSIONS

These cases highlight the risk of secondary chondrosarcoma in patients following radiotherapy and the importance of lifetime monitoring.

目的

报告 2 例儿童期放疗后发生眼眶累及的去分化软骨肉瘤的介入治疗病例,并复习关于放射治疗后眼眶软骨肉瘤的文献。

方法

对 2 例眼眶软骨肉瘤患者的病历进行回顾性分析,并复习文献。

结果

第 1 例患者在接受 OS 眼外照射治疗视网膜母细胞瘤 36 年后,发生眼眶和上颌窦软骨肉瘤。第 2 例患者在颅面纤维结构不良治疗中接受外照射治疗 35 年后,发生大型眼眶软骨肉瘤。

结论

这些病例强调了放疗后患者发生继发性软骨肉瘤的风险,以及终身监测的重要性。
