There are few studies reporting the antifungal activities of Lippia alba extracts.
A broth microdilution assay was used to evaluate the antifungal effects of Lippia alba extracts against seven yeast species of Candida and Cryptococcus. The butanol fraction was investigated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
The butanol fraction showed the highest activity against Candida glabrata. The fraction also acted synergistically with itraconazole and fluconazole against C. glabrata. The dominant compounds in the butanol fraction were 2,2,5-trimethyl-3,4-hexanedione, 3,5-dimethyl-4-octanone and hexadecane.
The butanol fraction may be a good candidate in the search for new drugs from natural products with antifungal activity.

采用微量肉汤稀释法评估莱莉(Lippia alba)提取物对七种酵母属(Candida 和 Cryptococcus)的抗真菌作用。通过气相色谱-质谱联用技术研究正丁醇萃取物。
正丁醇萃取物对光滑念珠菌(Candida glabrata)的活性最高。该萃取物与伊曲康唑和氟康唑联合使用时对光滑念珠菌表现出协同作用。正丁醇萃取物中的主要化合物为 2,2,5-三甲基-3,4-己二酮、3,5-二甲基-4-辛酮和十六烷。
正丁醇萃取物可能是从具有抗真菌活性的天然产物中寻找新药的良好候选物。
