Abstract
This paper reports on the initial experience gained in 27 patients, with a new demand system for the administration of oxygen (Oxytron, manufactured by Weinmann, Hamburg). Observing with the few contraindications (mouth breathers, sleep), this system proved to be a reliable means of administering oxygen while, at the same time making considerable savings in the amounts needed. Thanks to this effect, patients are offered an appreciable degree of additional mobility.
