[Public health-microbiological evaluation of housekeeping combinations for cleaning and disinfecting bed pans in the hospital].

For prophylaxis of infection in hospital and for staff care protection the bed pans used by hospital patients should be disinfected. Nowadays this is done mostly thermically in automatic disinfection systems. In Germany there is no regulation for the hygienic-microbiological check-up of these machines. The routine testing method for disinfection machines of bed pans is demonstrated. Under hygienic-microbiological aspects the technical procedures in disinfection machines are described and explained.
