The aim of this study was to retrospectively review the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging presentation of solitary spinal extradural plasmacytoma (SSEP), which originates from the dura and extends into the extradural space.
MR imaging features of seven patients with SSEP were analyzed.
All the tumors were spindle shaped, well defined, and located in the extradural dorsal spinal canal. Most lesions occurred in the thoracic regions with homogeneous enhancement. No bone erosion or exophytic paraspinal mass was noted.
SSEP should be considered if a well-circumscribed mass has homogeneous enhancement without bone erosion in the dorsal spinal canal.
本研究的目的是回顾性分析起源于硬脑膜并延伸至硬膜外间隙的孤立性脊柱硬膜外浆细胞瘤(SSEP)的磁共振(MR)成像表现。
分析7例SSEP患者的MR成像特征。
所有肿瘤均呈梭形,边界清晰,位于硬膜外背侧椎管。大多数病变发生在胸部区域,呈均匀强化。未发现骨质侵蚀或椎旁外生性肿块。
如果在背侧椎管内发现边界清晰、均匀强化且无骨质侵蚀的肿块,则应考虑SSEP。
