To study the histopathologic and optical coherence tomography changes after Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty in rabbits.
Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty was performed in 14 rabbit eyes and descemetorhexis was performed in 10 rabbits, as control. Histopathologic examination and anterior-segment optical coherence tomography were conducted in the Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty group at 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks. For the control group, histopathologic examination was performed before surgery and at 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks after surgery.
In the Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty group, corneas cleared completely within 2 weeks of surgery. Moreover, in most cases, the retained Descemet's membrane was present at the peripheral donor-host interface. The retrocorneal fibrocellular membrane also was seen in the peripheral Descemet's membrane stripped area without donor coverage. Anterior-segment optical coherence tomography revealed that the stroma deturgesed most rapidly between weeks 1 and 2.
Retained Descemet's membrane was not the cause for graft dislocation and the retrocorneal fibrocellular membrane may be a kind of protective reaction to denuded endothelium.
研究兔Descemet膜剥除内皮角膜移植术后的组织病理学及光学相干断层扫描变化。
对14只兔眼行Descemet膜剥除内皮角膜移植术，10只兔行后弹力层撕除术作为对照。对Descemet膜剥除内皮角膜移植组在术后1周、2周、4周和8周进行组织病理学检查及眼前节光学相干断层扫描。对照组在手术前及术后1周、2周、4周和8周进行组织病理学检查。
Descemet膜剥除内皮角膜移植组角膜在术后2周内完全清亮。此外，在大多数病例中，保留的Descemet膜存在于周边供体-宿主界面。在未被供体覆盖的周边Descemet膜剥除区域也可见到角膜后纤维细胞膜。眼前节光学相干断层扫描显示，基质在第1周和第2周之间消肿最为迅速。
保留的Descemet膜不是植片脱位的原因，角膜后纤维细胞膜可能是对裸露内皮的一种保护反应。
