Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To determine the possible association between the M235T variant of angiotensinogen gene and preeclampsia in Iranian preeclamtic women with hypertension during pregnancy.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

During a case control study, we used polymerase chain reaction-based restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis to investigate the association between M235T polymorphism in preeclamtic women compared to normotensive controls.

RESULTS

The M235T polymorphism was significantly associated with increased preeclampsia risk in the studied population as supported by a p value of 0.017 and chi-square value of 8.12. The frequency of mutated allele and genotype distribution showed a significant difference between preeclamtic women and control groups.

CONCLUSION

The result indicates that the AGT M235T polymorphism plays a significant role in preeclampsia observed in selected Iranian preeclamtic women, and it can be considered as a major risk factor for preeclampsia.

目的

确定血管紧张素原基因M235T变异与伊朗孕期患先兆子痫并伴有高血压的女性先兆子痫之间的可能关联。

材料与方法

在一项病例对照研究中,我们采用基于聚合酶链反应的限制性片段长度多态性分析(PCR-RFLP),以研究先兆子痫女性与血压正常的对照组相比,M235T多态性之间的关联。

结果

研究人群中,M235T多态性与先兆子痫风险增加显著相关,p值为0.017,卡方值为8.12,支持了这一结果。突变等位基因频率和基因型分布在先兆子痫女性与对照组之间存在显著差异。

结论

结果表明,AGT M235T多态性在选定的伊朗先兆子痫女性中观察到的先兆子痫中起重要作用,可被视为先兆子痫的主要危险因素。
