[A man with a raised upper arm].

A 43-year-old man presented at our emergency department with a painful shoulder after a fall with his arm in abduction. Clinical presentation was typical for a luxatio erecta without evidence for neurovasculair damage. It is a rare but important diagnosis because of the high risk of plexus injury.
