The aim of this study is to evaluate the subfoveal choroidal volume change in the patients with branch retinal vein occlusion before and after intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor injection using the enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography.
We measured the bilateral subfoveal choroidal volume in 15 patients (mean age, 64.47 ± 7.13 years) with unilateral branch retinal vein occlusion by using the enhanced depth imaging methods of the Spectralis optical coherence tomography system. After an injection of intravitreal bevacizumab, we measured the subfoveal choroidal volume of the eye with regressed macular edema.
The mean subfoveal choroidal volume measured in 15 eligible eyes of 15 patients was 7.74 ± 0.70 mm, which was significantly greater than the volume of the fellow eyes (6.38 ± 0.69 mm; P = 0.001, Wilcoxon signed-rank test). The subfoveal choroidal volume of the eye with regressed macular edema was 6.56 ± 0.79 mm, which was significantly lower than the volume before the treatment (P = 0.001, Wilcoxon signed-rank test).
The subfoveal choroidal volume of the branch retinal vein occlusion eyes was significantly greater than the volume of the fellow eyes and decreased significantly after an intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor treatment.
本研究旨在使用增强深度成像光学相干断层扫描技术评估视网膜分支静脉阻塞患者玻璃体内注射抗血管内皮生长因子前后黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积的变化。
我们使用Spectralis光学相干断层扫描系统的增强深度成像方法,测量了15例(平均年龄64.47±7.13岁)单侧视网膜分支静脉阻塞患者的双侧黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积。在玻璃体内注射贝伐单抗后,我们测量了黄斑水肿消退的患眼的黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积。
15例患者的15只合格眼中测量的平均黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积为7.74±0.70mm,显著大于对侧眼的体积(6.38±0.69mm;P=0.001,Wilcoxon符号秩检验)。黄斑水肿消退的患眼的黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积为6.56±0.79mm,显著低于治疗前的体积(P=0.001,Wilcoxon符号秩检验)。
视网膜分支静脉阻塞患眼的黄斑中心凹下脉络膜体积显著大于对侧眼,玻璃体内抗血管内皮生长因子治疗后显著减小。
