To investigate the associations between physical exercise and quality of life in breast cancer patients.
A cross-sectional study was conducted among 3 344 community breast cancer patients between April and July 2013 in Shanghai, China. Data were collected using a questionnaire, including socio-demographic situation, cancer survival and health behaviors, and scores of EORTC QLQ-C30 Simplified Chinese version and FACT-G Simplified Chinese version.
Among a total of 3 344 breast cancer patients, the patients doing exercise reported significantly higher EORTC physical functioning scores, role functioning scores, emotional functioning scores, global health scores, and FACT-G physical well-being scores, social well-being scores, emotional well-being scores, functional well-being scores, and FACT-G total scores than the patients who didn't take exercise (P < 0.05, P(Adjusted)<0.05) . Breast cancer patients who did exercise more than or equal to 5 times/week reported significantly higher EORTC role functioning scores, cognitive functioning scores, emotional functioning scores, global health scores and FACT-G physical well-being scores, functional well-being scores, and FACT-G total scores than patients who did exercise less than 5 times/week (P < 0.05, P(Adjusted)<0.05 ).
There are active associations between physical exercise and quality of life in breast cancer patients. Engagement in physical exercise is beneficial to breast cancer patients with long-term survival.
探讨体育锻炼与乳腺癌患者生活质量之间的关联。
2013年4月至7月间,在中国上海对3344名社区乳腺癌患者进行了一项横断面研究。使用问卷收集数据,内容包括社会人口学状况、癌症生存情况和健康行为,以及欧洲癌症研究与治疗组织生活质量核心问卷(EORTC QLQ-C30)中文版简表和癌症治疗功能评价量表通用版(FACT-G)中文版简表的评分。
在总共3344名乳腺癌患者中,进行锻炼的患者在EORTC身体功能评分、角色功能评分、情绪功能评分、总体健康评分,以及FACT-G的身体幸福感评分、社会幸福感评分、情绪幸福感评分、功能幸福感评分和FACT-G总分方面,均显著高于未进行锻炼的患者(P<0.05,校正后P<0.05)。每周锻炼次数大于或等于5次的乳腺癌患者在EORTC角色功能评分、认知功能评分、情绪功能评分、总体健康评分,以及FACT-G的身体幸福感评分、功能幸福感评分和FACT-G总分方面,均显著高于每周锻炼次数少于5次的患者(P<0.05,校正后P<0.05)。
体育锻炼与乳腺癌患者的生活质量之间存在积极关联。参与体育锻炼对长期生存的乳腺癌患者有益。
