BACKGROUND/AIM: Humeral shaft fractures may occur as a result of arm wrestling. The aim of this study was to present our treatment of humerus fracture sustained during arm wrestling.
METHODS
A total of six patients, aged 22 to 48, were treated at our department form January 2008 to January 2010 with open reduction and internal fixation and with hanging arm casts. A review of all the relevant literature on the subject was also presented.
RESULTS
In all the cases, the fractures healed and function returned to normal. No patient had any neural or vascular compromise.
CONCLUSION
Closed and operative treatments were equally successful in all reported cases.
背景/目的：肱骨干骨折可能因掰手腕而发生。本研究的目的是介绍我们对掰手腕时发生的肱骨骨折的治疗方法。
方法
2008年1月至2010年1月，我们科室共治疗了6例年龄在22至48岁之间的患者，采用切开复位内固定和悬吊石膏固定。还对该主题的所有相关文献进行了综述。
结果
所有病例骨折均愈合，功能恢复正常。没有患者出现神经或血管损伤。
结论
在所有报道的病例中，闭合治疗和手术治疗同样成功。
