[The development of primary health care in the world, Europe and Greece].

This brief review describes the development of Primary Health Care (PHC) in all countries of the world and the main factors which urged the World Community to adapt the PHC as the "key" for the attainment of the goal "Health for All by the year 2000". In addition, emphasis is given to the role and the contribution of Nursing to the achievement of the above goal.
