One hospital's experience with implementing family-centered maternity care.

In developing a family-centered maternity care program, staff at one urban hospital developed a set of implementation principles. These principles, plus anecdotal experiences illustrating them, are discussed. Patient and nurse satisfaction with the program are described, and a recommendation for FCMC immplementation is offered.
