We report about a 81-year-old woman who collapsed and died a short time after announcing thoracal pain. The autopsy revealed an acute ruptured thoracic aortal dissection as a consequence of medionecrosis Erdheim-Gsell as well as mucoid media degeneration of several arteries of the muscular type. As far as we know this is a very uncommon combination of two separate non-arteriosclerotic media lesions.
