Abstract
Reactions to contrast media used for intravenous pyelography are everyday possibilities in a radiology department, and statistics indicate that the incidence of fatalities has increased after a period of decline. The physiology of reactions and how to be prepared for them, as described here, are important parts of the technologist's knowledge.
