With reference to US patent no. 2,530,397 (November 21, 1950), held by Willy W. Merté, a type of optical lens or lens system is described which makes an image with no spherical or chromatic aberration possible. The principal features of this invention are described in brief. A number of possible applications originally proposed by the inventor himself are mentioned.
