Fourteen linear and fourteen angular cephalometric dimensions were measured from cephalographs of ninety male British Caucasians in Angle Class I, II, and III malocclusion categories. Univariate statistical analysis showed varying contrasts between these categories, depending upon which dimension was compared. Multivariate analysis of all the angular and linear dimensions combined revealed significant contrasts between the three occlusal categories. This study, therefore, showed that only with a multivariate approach will the intricacies of the craniofacial skeleton be interpreted.
