The inclusion of physical evaluation as a predoctoral course emphasizes the physical and emotional needs of the patient to the dental student. The dental graduate who enters a general practice residency program will have better preparation for his hospital training and he will have more time to develop diagnostic skills if his predoctoral training includes physical evaluation.
