Abstract

Struvite precipitation has been widely applied for the removal of ammonium-nitrogen (NH-N) from wastewater. Due to the high cost of phosphorus (P) reagents, the current research trend was directed to find alternative sources of P, in order to maintain a sustainable NH-N removal process. The current study investigated waste bones ashes as alternative sources of P. Different types of bones' ashes were characterized, in which the ash produced from waste fish bones was the highest in P content (17%wt.). The optimization of the factors affecting P extraction from ash by acidic leaching showed that applying 2M HSO and 1.25 kg HSO/kg ash achieved the highest P recovery (95%). Thereafter, the recovered P was successfully used in struvite precipitation, which achieved more than 90% NH-N removal and high purity struvite.

鸟粪石沉淀法已被广泛应用于去除废水中的氨氮(NH-N)。由于磷(P)试剂成本高昂,当前的研究趋势是寻找替代磷源,以维持可持续的氨氮去除过程。本研究考察了废骨粉作为替代磷源的可能性。对不同类型的骨灰进行了表征,其中废鱼骨产生的骨灰磷含量最高(17%重量)。通过酸性浸出法对影响骨灰中磷提取的因素进行优化,结果表明,使用2M硫酸(H₂SO₄)且硫酸用量为1.25 kg H₂SO₄/kg骨灰时,磷回收率最高(95%)。此后,回收的磷成功用于鸟粪石沉淀,氨氮去除率超过90%,且鸟粪石纯度较高。
