Surgical obturator prostheses for oronasal defects frequently require major alterations because of rapid changes in the defect following surgery. When necessary, the closing of the superior surface of the obturator can be completed as an office procedure by using light-cured acrylic resin. A step-by-step method for this procedure is described. The nonporous nature of the material used prevents accumulation of mucous and debris in the hollow extension.
