PURPOSE
To report a case of spontaneous closure of a full-thickness macular hole after a posterior subtenon injection of triamcinolone in a patient with Irvine-Gass syndrome.
METHODS
Case report and literature review.
RESULTS
A 70-year-old man presented to the retina clinic with visual disturbance in his right eye after an uneventful cataract surgery. Patient was found to have macular edema associated with a full-thickness macular hole, treated with a posterior subtenon injection of triamcinolone with subsequent spontaneous closure of the hole and excellent visual acuity.
CONCLUSION
This case demonstrates possible resolution of a condition which traditionally requires surgical intervention, with a nonsurgical approach.
目的
报告1例患有 Irvine-Gass 综合征的患者在球后注射曲安奈德后，全层黄斑裂孔自发闭合的病例。
方法
病例报告及文献复习。
结果
一名70岁男性在白内障手术顺利完成后，因右眼视力障碍就诊于视网膜诊所。患者被发现患有与全层黄斑裂孔相关的黄斑水肿，接受了球后注射曲安奈德治疗，随后裂孔自发闭合，视力极佳。
结论
本病例表明，一种传统上需要手术干预的疾病，有可能通过非手术方法得到解决。
