In a 50-year-old woman with renal osteopathy due to chronic renal failure the extraosseous calcifications disappeared after 16 months of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. The causes are the normalization of acid-base metabolism, calcium and phosphate level and elimination of parathormone across the peritoneum.
