[The Rodewischer declarations 1963 and 1983--expression of the responsibility of the entire society for rehabilitation of psychiatric patients].

A short historical overview shows, that different human societies approach in a different way to the social problems connected with the existence of mental ill persons. The declarations of congresses of socialist countries psychiatrists in Rodewisch/GDR in 1963 and 1983 reflect the main lines of treatment, rehabilitation and position in the socialist society of mental ill people. There are also outlined the tasks with regard to rehabilitation for the next years.
