[Health problems related to the reconstruction of copper smelting plants].

Reconstruction of a copper-smelting plant promoted the solution of some problems of the improvement of working conditions and environmental protection. As a result the atmospheric and workplace air emission of gaseous sulphur compounds, carbon and arsenic oxides and polymetallic dusts was intensified. In order to improve working conditions it was necessary to install new equipment positively assessed from the hygienic point of view, to perfect technological processes and to carry out a scientifically proved complex of sanitary, technological, organizational and preventive measures.
