Vision therapy has been shown to provide higher success rates than surgery in the treatment of intermittent exotropia, but vision therapy is not successful in all cases. A case of intermittent exotropia is presented that illustrates the use of vision therapy in combination with surgery. Issues that should be considered when selecting this treatment option are discussed.
