The use of the Charnley test and the Lazansky test in evaluation of function of the hip after alloplasty has been presented. The authors believe that the Lazansky test gives a more complete evaluation of hip joint condition but on the other hand the less complicated Charnley test enables quick evaluation of the hip, even at the out-patient clinic. The use of numerical methods of functional evaluation makes treatment results objective and fully comparable.
