Use of a convex mirror in indirect ophthalmoscopy for patients in a prone position.

Fundus examination with the patient in a prone position sometimes requires the observer to assume an uncomfortable position. I describe using a convex rear-view mirror with an 800-mm radius of curvature in binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy to overcome this difficulty. This device is especially helpful in pneumatic retinopexy.
