[Physical work capacity and ergometric indicators of the functional state of the cardiovascular system in sailors].

Examination of 194 sailors during the navigation period showed a decrease in their work capacity and deterioration of ergometric indices characterizing their cardiovascular activity. Decrease of chrono- and inotropic heart reserves, productivity of mechanical work and myocardium contraction function was pointed out. There were found out reduction in work economy and elevation of energy losses, the degree of which was associated with environmental conditions, work intensity and duration of continuous work.
