Health visitors and child protection: conflict, contradictions and ethical dilemmas.

Increasing involvement in child protection threatens the ethical basis of health visiting. This paper, based on research undertaken in two health authorities into health visitor involvement in child protection, explores how health visitors manage this problem and discusses some of the ethical implications of their conduct.
