The Award for Distinguished Career Contributions to Education and Training in Psychology is given in recognition of the efforts of psychologists who have made distinguished contributions to education and training, who have produced imaginative innovations, or who have been involved in the developmental phases of programs in education and training in psychology. The Career designation is added to the award at the discretion of the Education and Training Awards Committee to recognize continuous significant contributions made over a lifelong career in psychology. The 2016 recipient of this award is Roger P. Greenberg, whose "scholarship has generated important evidence on psychotherapy process and outcome, personality theories, psychosomatic conditions, and the comparative effectiveness of psychological and biological treatments for mental disorders."
