Visual evoked potentials have been recorded in 95 patients with cataracts (60 with senile cataracts and 35 with traumatic ones). No visual evoked potentials could be recorded in 23 patients, 14 of these suffering from glaucomas (primary or secondary). The absence of visual evoked potentials indicates that optico-reconstructive surgery is hopeless.
对95例白内障患者（60例老年性白内障和35例外伤性白内障）记录了视觉诱发电位。23例患者无法记录到视觉诱发电位，其中14例患有青光眼（原发性或继发性）。视觉诱发电位的缺失表明视神经重建手术无望。
