[Temporomandibular arthrography. Contribution of the frontal view in the diagnosis of meniscus displacement. Preliminary study].

Coronal arthrographic views of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are easily obtained. The meniscus is nicely depicted in the coronal plane after adequate opacification of both joint compartments. Medial versus lateral displacements of the meniscus are well depicted. Pre-operatively it is as important to disclose a medio-lateral displacement of the meniscus than to quantify the degree of an anterior meniscus displacement.
