Thirty patients with unstable angina pectoris underwent atrial stimulation test under continuous ECG monitoring and repeat coronary ventriculography. All this made it possible to compare ST-segment dynamics with altered parameters of left ventricular contractility in induced myocardial ischemia. It was shown that ischemia that appeared as ST-segment depression caused abnormal regional myocardial contractility in the area of impaired coronary blood flow. At the same time, ischemias shown by ST-segment elevation resulted in abnormal diastolic myocardial relaxation in the left ventricle.
