[Evaluation of acid-producing function of the stomach based on the data of pH-metry after surgical treatment of peptic ulcer].

By the method of pH-metry, the acid-producing function of the stomach in 319 patients operated on for ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum was studied. The 5 types of basal acid production are established: maximum, increased, moderate, decreased, lack of acid formation. The additional compensated, subcompensated, decompensated increased acid formation is distinguished. The data obtained should be considered in choice of a method for surgical treatment of ulcer disease of the duodenum and stomach.
