The article discusses surgical treatment of 6 patients with injury inflicted to the femoral artery by the inguinal ligament in a blunt trauma of this region; they accounted for 1.4% of cases with blunt trauma of the femoral artery encountered by the author. The clinical signs of the trauma are described. The author believes that contrast study of the vessels of the injured limb can be conducted either through the contralateral limb after Seldinger or by translumbar puncture of the aorta. The variant of the restoration of the continuity of the vessel is determined by the degree of involvement of the arterial wall in an atherosclerotic process, the length of the affection of the arterial wall and the zone of the thrombosis. The results were good in 5 patients, amputation was conducted in one patient.
