Two cases of unilateral adnexal absence and ectopic ovarian hypoplasia with fallopian tube absence are herein reported, along with a systematic review of the literature and a discussion on the main factors causing these malformations.
The MEDLINE database was searched for English language medical reports published between 1973 and 2014. The key words used were "ovarian agenesis", "ovarian hypoplasia", "undescended ovary" and "fallopian tube abnormalities".
Five studies were included on unilateral ovarian maldescent without uterine anomalies, along with 23 reports of unilateral absence of one ovary in presence or absence of the fallopian tube.
Even though of Müllerian duct anomalies are relatively common, congenital defects or absence of an ovary is quite rare. It would be interesting to investigate and to correlate the presence of such rare anomalies with the percentage of pregnancies. Therefore, further evaluation and larger studies are needed.
本文报告了两例单侧附件缺如及伴有输卵管缺如的异位卵巢发育不全病例，并对文献进行了系统回顾，同时讨论了导致这些畸形的主要因素。
检索MEDLINE数据库，查找1973年至2014年间发表的英文医学报告。使用的关键词为“卵巢发育不全”“卵巢发育不良”“未降卵巢”和“输卵管异常”。
纳入了五项关于无子宫异常的单侧卵巢下降异常的研究，以及23例单侧卵巢缺如伴或不伴输卵管缺如的报告。
尽管苗勒管异常相对常见，但先天性卵巢缺陷或缺失却相当罕见。研究此类罕见异常的存在与妊娠率之间的关联将很有意思。因此，需要进一步评估和开展更大规模的研究。
