[Initial clinical experiences with a new testicular prosthesis].

Implantation of testicular prosthesis is an established therapeutic approach to the maintenance of self-respect feeling of a man. New products take occasion to review the requirements on a testicular prosthesis. In 6 patients we have implanted through an inguinal approach 7 prostheses consisting of silicone rubber made at VEB "August Apfelbaum" Neustadt-Glewe. The indications were atrophy or loss of testis due to trauma, operation or inflammation. Weight, design and surface characteristics were without complaints, but the size supply and consistence of the prostheses should be changed by the manufacturers.
