Abstract
The effect of a daily intramuscular injection of vitamin D3 (2000 IU/100 g b.wt) on serum calcium level was investigated in Varanus flavescens. This treatment evoked hypercalcaemia on day 3 which progressed up to day 7. At day 14 a decline was noticed in the serum calcium level which was followed by a rise from day 21 to day 28.
