Abstract

AIM

To investigate the expressions of metadherin (astrocyte elevated gene-1, AEG-1) and lymphoid enhancer-binding factor-1 (LEF-1) in ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.

METHODS

The expressions of AEG-1 and LEF-1 were detected on specimens harvested from patients suffering from MALT lymphoma and lymphadenosis of ocular adnexal in Ophthalmology Department, Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from 2000 to 2015 by immunohistochemical and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis.

RESULTS

AEG-1 and LEF-1 expressions in MALT lymphoma was respectively higher than that in lymphadenosis, both by immunohistochemical and PCR analysis (<0.05). Diversity of AEG-1 and LEF-1 expressions in different Ann Arbor clinical stages showed a statistically significant result (<0.05). A positive relevance between AEG-1 and LEF-1 was observed in MALT ocular adnexal lymphoma (=0.435, =0.016).

CONCLUSION

The over expressions of AEG-1 and LEF-1 at the level of protein and mRNA participates in the tumorigenesis of ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma. They should act as a new biological marker for pathological diagnosis in the future.

目的

探讨间黏附素(星形胶质细胞上调基因-1,AEG-1)和淋巴样增强因子-1(LEF-1)在眼附属器黏膜相关淋巴组织(MALT)淋巴瘤中的表达情况。

方法

采用免疫组织化学和聚合酶链反应(PCR)分析法,检测2000年至2015年青岛大学附属医院眼科收治的MALT淋巴瘤及眼附属器淋巴结病患者标本中AEG-1和LEF-1的表达。

结果

免疫组织化学和PCR分析均显示,MALT淋巴瘤中AEG-1和LEF-1的表达分别高于淋巴结病(<0.05)。不同Ann Arbor临床分期中AEG-1和LEF-1表达的差异具有统计学意义(<0.05)。在眼附属器MALT淋巴瘤中观察到AEG-1和LEF-1呈正相关(=0.435,=0.016)。

结论

AEG-1和LEF-1在蛋白和mRNA水平的过表达参与了眼附属器MALT淋巴瘤的肿瘤发生。它们有望在未来成为病理诊断的新生物标志物。
