An analysis of the sagittal condylar pathways in patients with clicking temporomandibular joints is presented in relation to the mechanism of this symptom which is still hypothetical. The condylar movements of five healthy subjects are compared with the pathways of five patients with unilateral or bilateral clicking joints. The results indicate that in the latter group there are clearly perceivable deviations from the movement pattern as found in the group of the healthy subjects.
