Abstract
Shewanella is Gram-negative motile bacillus, non fermentative and facultative anaerobe. Its natural habitat is all forms of water and soil, but has also been isolated from fish, dairy products, oils, and carcasses. Often found with microflora of the marine environment. Bacterial infections with spp. are rare. The exposure to the marine environment, sea and diary food are considered as a risk factor for spp. infection. Clinical infections seen are otitis, soft tissue infection, bacteremia, ear infection, eye infection, infective arthritis, osteomyelitis, infective endocarditis and peritonitis.

希瓦氏菌属是革兰氏阴性、具鞭毛的杆菌，不发酵，兼性厌氧。其天然生境是各种形式的水和土壤，但也已从鱼类、乳制品、油类和尸体中分离出来。常与海洋环境中的微生物群落共生。感染该菌属的细菌感染较为罕见。接触海洋环境、海水和乳制品被认为是感染该菌属的危险因素。临床可见的感染有中耳炎、软组织感染、菌血症、耳部感染、眼部感染、感染性关节炎、骨髓炎、感染性心内膜炎和腹膜炎。
