Abstract

BACKGROUND

Cavernoma of the optic chiasm is a rare disease, and the most common clinical presentation is chiasmal apoplexy. Almost all the cases reported in the literature were treated surgically with craniotomy.

CASE DESCRIPTION

We report a case of optochiasmatic cavernoma successfully resected via an endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach (EETA).

CONCLUSIONS

Rapid diagnosis and complete resection of a symptomatic optochiasmatic cavernoma are helpful in improving visual dysfunction. EETA is an alternative, minimally invasive technique for resecting this type of lesion.

背景

视交叉海绵状血管瘤是一种罕见疾病,最常见的临床表现是视交叉卒中。文献报道的几乎所有病例均采用开颅手术治疗。

病例描述

我们报告一例经鼻内镜经蝶窦入路(EETA)成功切除的视交叉海绵状血管瘤病例。

结论

对视交叉海绵状血管瘤进行快速诊断并完整切除有助于改善视觉功能障碍。EETA是切除此类病变的一种可供选择的微创技术。
