This study aims to evaluate the hearing gain efficacy from adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen (HBO₂) treatment in patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL).
A retrospective analysis of chart reviews was performed on patients with ISSHL between January 2013 through December 2015. All patients were referred to us from our ENT Department for adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen treatment. The results were assessed through pure-tone audiometry (PTA) data change (hearing gain), both before and after HBO₂) treatment. Age, gender, affected ear side, HBO₂) treatment sessions, both before and after HBO₂ treatment PTA were all recorded.
Ninety-three (93) patients with ISSHL were included in the study. The average hearing gain in this study was 17.9 dB (p=0.001), where a total of 46 (49.46%) patients showed an improvement (hearing gain≥dB) in response to HBO₂ treatment (p=0.002). Patients with the poorest initial severity of hearing loss who displayed a greater degree of hearing improvement after HBO₂ treatment were male and in the 40- to 59-year-old age group.
This study found that adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen treatment was efficacious for patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss. The total average hearing gain was recorded to be 17.9 dB.
本研究旨在评估辅助高压氧（HBO₂）治疗对特发性突发性感音神经性听力损失（ISSHL）患者的听力改善效果。
对2013年1月至2015年12月期间的ISSHL患者进行回顾性病历分析。所有患者均由我院耳鼻喉科转诊接受辅助高压氧治疗。通过纯音听力测定（PTA）数据变化（听力改善）评估治疗前后的结果。记录患者的年龄、性别、患耳侧别、HBO₂治疗疗程以及治疗前后的PTA。
本研究纳入了93例ISSHL患者。本研究中的平均听力改善为17.9 dB（p = 0.001），共有46例（49.46%）患者在接受HBO₂治疗后听力得到改善（听力改善≥dB）（p = 0.002）。初始听力损失程度最差且在接受HBO₂治疗后听力改善程度较大的患者为40至59岁的男性。
本研究发现辅助高压氧治疗对特发性突发性感音神经性听力损失患者有效。记录的总平均听力改善为17.9 dB。
