Kryptocur (Gonadorelin, Hoechst) was applied in the form of intranasal spray three times daily in 16 boys. A total of 18 retained testes were treated. Kryptocur causes release of LH and FSH. The hormonal pulse-therapy elevates testosterone level which, in turn, leads to descension of the testis. Side-effects are less significant than with HCG. Among the children the youngest was 2.5 and the oldest 9 years old. In seven cases, the testis descended into the scrotum, in three cases migrant testes were resulted, in six cases, there was no result at all. The most favourable effect was achieved in the youngest age-group (2.5 to 5 year-olds) with retained testes lodged at the root of the penis.
