Abstract

A major issue in social work education is gerontological specialization within a generalist curriculum. Among the many options for integrating gerontological information into social work education is the Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Certificate programs provide advanced gerontological content, aging research opportunities, and multidisciplinary practicum experiences. A central coordinating unit is recommended to enhance participation of faculty with gerontological expertise across disciplines within a university. Geriatric Education Centers provide faculty and practicum preceptors with curriculum consultation, instructional materials, and continuing education programs to update content knowledge, to enhance clinical and educational skills, and to support research activities in aging.

社会工作教育中的一个主要问题是在通才课程中进行老年学专业化。将老年学信息整合到社会工作教育中的众多选择之一是老年学研究生证书。证书课程提供高级老年学内容、衰老研究机会和多学科实习经验。建议设立一个中央协调单位,以提高大学各学科中具有老年学专业知识的教师的参与度。老年教育中心为教师和实习指导教师提供课程咨询、教学材料和继续教育项目,以更新内容知识、提高临床和教育技能,并支持衰老研究活动。
