Because of the present tendency to operate early on undescended testes, the indication for orchidopexy amounts to six-to-seven times the justified number in the Netherlands and two-to-three times in Flanders! The tendency to operate early has surely caused more fertility damage than prevented it. This critical statement asks for consideration and urges everybody concerned to a more accurate and repeated physical examination of the genital region and to a conservative attitude regarding treatment.
由于目前对于隐睾尽早进行手术的趋势，在荷兰，睾丸固定术的指征是合理数量的六到七倍，在佛兰德是两到三倍！尽早手术的趋势肯定造成了比预防更多的生育损害。这一批判性的说法值得深思，并敦促所有相关人员对生殖器区域进行更准确且反复的体格检查，并在治疗上采取保守态度。
