The use of anencephalic fetuses and neonates as organ donors is technically feasible, and xenografts may be. Several ethical questions emerge, however, involving the appropriate use of such organs and what alterations, if any, in obstetric and neonatal management may be acceptable to increase the availability and likelihood of success of such organs.
