Laser therapy--things to come: multiple spectra and photodynamic therapy.

The clinical application of endoscopic laser therapy has expanded recently to include the resolution of various strictures of the gastrointestinal tract and the fracture of gallstones. These uses and the growing utilization of photodynamic therapy of tumors in conjunction with hematoporphyrin derivative is reviewed. These advances hold enough therapeutic promise to demand careful consideration.
