An analysis of 1,108 histories of outpatients with a follow-up of 10 years and longer (up to 40 years) was carried out in Orekhovo-Zuyevo (population--132,301). 554 patients had stomach cancer diagnosed in 1973-1978 while the other 554 selected at random were in control. The results are discussed in detail.
