Abstract

AIM

To evaluate various biomarkers of metabolism, immunity and inflammation in obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).

MATERIALS & METHODS: After overnight polysomnography, blood was collected from 292 OSAHS patients or healthy volunteers. Serum content of inflammatory, immune, metabolic biomarkers were investigated. In addition, the effects of 1-month continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) were studied in moderate/severe OSAHS.

RESULTS

C3, serum total complement activity, superoxide dismutase, uric acid were significantly higher in moderate/severe OSAHS than that in no/mild OSAHS. In contrast, IGF-1 in moderate/severe OSAHS was lower than it in no/mild OSAHS, which was negative correlated with apnea-hypopnea index. Moreover, CPAP significantly decreased C3, meanwhile elevated IGF-1.

CONCLUSION

C3, serum total complement activity and superoxide dismutase were higher in moderate/severe OSAHS, while IGF-1 decreased. Elevated C3 and reduced IGF-1 in moderate/severe OSAHS may be reversed by CPAP.

目的

评估阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停低通气综合征(OSAHS)患者的代谢、免疫和炎症的各种生物标志物。

材料与方法

对 292 例 OSAHS 患者或健康志愿者进行整夜多导睡眠图检查后,采集血液。检测血清中炎症、免疫和代谢生物标志物的含量。此外,还研究了 1 个月持续气道正压通气(CPAP)对中重度 OSAHS 的影响。

结果

中重度 OSAHS 患者的 C3、血清总补体活性、超氧化物歧化酶、尿酸明显高于无/轻度 OSAHS 患者。相反,中重度 OSAHS 患者的 IGF-1 低于无/轻度 OSAHS 患者,且与呼吸暂停低通气指数呈负相关。此外,CPAP 可显著降低 C3,同时升高 IGF-1。

结论

中重度 OSAHS 患者的 C3、血清总补体活性和超氧化物歧化酶升高,而 IGF-1 降低。CPAP 可逆转中重度 OSAHS 患者中升高的 C3 和降低的 IGF-1。
